Rob Johnson

Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Life Underwriter

Rob Johnson entered the financial services industry back in September of 1977.  Prior to that he graduated from the University of Washington, served in the Peace Corps in Micronesia as an economic development adviser and also attended business school at Western Washington University.  Rob earned his professional designation of Chartered Life Underwriter in 1982 and his professional designation of Chartered Financial Consultant in 1984.  Between 1977 and 1991 Rob was a career agent with AXA Equitable before becoming an independent financial advisor.  From 1982 to 2007 Rob was affiliated with Whitfields Insurance in Snohomish County, providing help and guidance with employee benefit programs for numerous businesses as well as assistance to individuals.  Rob affiliated with Woodbury Financial in 2003 as his broker-dealer. Northwest Retirement Security Group was formed in January of 2007 in order to focus on the long-term retirement needs as well as the health insurance needs of our diverse customer base.

Rob has been married since 1980 and has two grown children and a grandson.  He resides in Stanwood, WA. He has served in numerous public service organizations over the last 25 years. Between 1991 and 1995 he served as a State Representative in the Washington State Legislature. From 1998 to 2001 he served as the Executive Director of the Cascadia Region Earthquake Workgroup. Between 2003 and 2006 he served as a board member of the Mount Vernon School District. He served as a reservist with FEMA from 1996 to 2012 helping with recovery from federally-declared disasters. He currently serves as a Councilmember in Stanwood.
